An adjective is a word that modifies or describes a noun or pronoun by providing additional information about its qualities, characteristics, or attributes. Adjectives describe the qualities or characteristics of nouns (e.g., tall, blue, happy). They help to make writing more descriptive and expressive by providing vivid details about the subject. Adjectives typically come before the noun they modify: adjective + noun (nice day/grey clouds etc.)

Some Adjectives can be turned into nouns and used as nouns. They are called Substantivized Adjectives. Substantivized adjectives, also known as nominalized adjectives.   They are adjectives that have been turned into nouns by adding  suffixes such as: -ness, -ity, or -ism.

Degrees of Comparison of  the Adjectives

Degrees of Comparison of the Adjectives

Adjectives form three degrees of comparison to compare the qualities of the objects. There is no comparison when Adjectives are in the positive degree. It is the main form of Adjectives and they do not have special ending in this degree.
